Nightprowler (just known as "Prowler", usually :)) is my car! She's a 1998 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and my baby. I brought her home in February of 2018 as my first car ever! She's as much a daily driver as she is an eternal project car; when she came to me, she didn't even have a fuel pump (yet we somehow drove her all the way from San Antonio to Houston), and I had never even done an oil change before I had to start fighting with a rust-ravaged fuel tank for months.

It's insane how much I've done with her and how much she's taught me (and my mom (love you and thank you for your support in my crazy-ass decision to buy this beast <3), who has become a shade tree mechanic in her own right) in the process. When my bipolar was at its worst, Prowler was one of the only things that grounded me and consistently gave me a purpose—working on a car is a lot more satisfying than working towards a bachelor's degree, honestly—and a way to destress. I plan on driving her into the ground and then a hundred thousand miles more.

She's bone-stock except for an aftermarket air lid (because my old one had a tear at the bellows), so her horsepower is probably somewhere between 305 and 315. One day—after I fix eeeeverything else, including her busted, crispy speaker system—maybe I'll do a few bolt-ons or something just to keep it exciting.

(I am not immune to GM's propaganda.)

I own the purple poster, actually!

I wanted an older (third gen) Bird soooo bad because the styling on them is so clean, but my concerns for safety and the seductive appeal of the 5.7L LS1 made the fourth gen a muuuuuch better option for me.
