my nasty awful cat with every disease. honestly, I do find him to be a sad character and meriting some degree of sympathy. you can tell by the way he behaves that his upbringing haunts him constantly. he's out for himself, he's uninterested in forming connections with others, but he desperately craves attention and validation. his more wretched behaviours are coloured by chronic emotional neglect, even if even he couldn't waterboard that degree of honesty out of himself. his hunger is apparent enough to be exploited and he's sharp enough to be aware of that fact but so far gone that he can't resist himself.
but maaaaan oh MAN is it hard to feel bad for him when he is an absolute asshole, such a thoroughly unpleasant person. in terms of immorality, he's right at home with the rest of the Seventh and even they can't stand him. he doesn't want to be here (anywhere). he doesn't care. he's not partaking. leave him alone. he's getting his ass kicked 24/7. he's the funniest man in japan. he has no idea how to behave like a normal person. he's bunny-kicking the damn heater. he's devoid of all loyalty. he sprinted out of a hospital, coked up, naked, in the middle of winter, within hours of getting emergency surgery. he went "what are you gonna do, shoot me?" and then got shot. worst of all, he's competent with a gun and that means he's undeniably cool.
he's a free-wheeling, ticking time bomb in terms of godawful trauma responses out to make it everyone else's problem and bask in the fallout.
